The Ski Monster Boston: Opening Fall 2014

Dear Boston,

Hold on tightly to your overpriced coffee drink that your favorite hipster just whipped up for you---we’ve got some breaking news over here! After working Ski Shops for the last ten years and building theskimonster.com for the last 7 years, it’s finally time to bring it all together and do it right – Welcome to The Ski Monster Boston!

60 Canal Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02114.

Yep, that’s our new address. Ours and all ours. Finally! Looking for commercial real estate is really tough (Shout out to our Real Estate Broker Joe Levanto and an awesome landlord Bill Colby; we couldn’t have done it without you guys). We looked at about 50 spaces from Downtown Crossing to the Financial District to Back Bay and weren’t feelin’it from most of what our beloved city had to offer for 10,000 square foot spaces. But when we walked into 60 Canal we knew it was on. It’s Amazing. The retail space spans the width of the whole block with entrances on Canal Street and Friend Street. I’m pretty sure that Tom Brady could throw a football from our front steps and hit the TD Garden -- on a good day. Full floor to ceiling windows on Canal Street and Friend Street, hardwood floors, 15 foot ceilings, it’s crazy! The place was already painted in TheSkiMonster colors. The lower level is huge and will be home for all of our Montana tuning equipment --- hot wax, sharpening, polishing, stone grinds, boot stretching, boot-planing/canting whatever---we are YOUR full service ski shop located 25 steps from Haymarket Station. 

If you’re coming into town for a Celtics or Bruins game then you gotta come by and say hello. There’s a liquor store right across the street in case you want to buy us beers. North Station is a 2 minute walk. If you’re located in the city then you can walk over from the North End, Beacon Hill, East Cambridge and Charlestown. The Orange Line and Green Line stop at Haymarket and North Station. Commuter Rail trains and Amtrak from the North dump you at North Station. There’s parking on both sides of Canal Street and the Government Center Garage is right by Haymarket. 

We got to where we are by providing our customers with service and knowledge that they can’t get anywhere else. It’s what we’ve been doing for years and it’s crazy how loyal people are when you do right by them. We’re still doing our 90 Day Worry-Free Return Policy, we still have some of the most knowledgeable people in the industry and we’re still the same well-rounded crew that loves showing up at work everyday. You guys and a lot of companies have believed in us for years and we wouldn’t have opened a gigantic ski shop in Downtown Boston if you didn’t believe in us.
