Shredding Utah powder, discovering untracked stashes at Aspen Highlands, ripping through trees at Mineral Basin and the endless snowfall of the Northeast... The winter of 2010/2011 has been nothing short of epic. At times I felt like the ski season would go into late July, but alas all good things must come to an end. The resorts quickly close one after another, and as the snow begins to recede into the mountain skiers everywhere enjoy their last apres' cocktail of the year. Goodbye winter 10/11... its been a pleasure.
It's finally time to unpack your gear bag and wash your base layers, which is more than likely long overdue, because temperatures are steadily climbing higher. I know what you guys are thinking and I completely understand. It's a dreadful feeling of... WHAT NOW?! What am I going to do?! How am I going to get my FIX?!... I ask myself these questions every year, and every year I find myself coming out of my winter snowcoma at the exact same moment. As soon as the last of my winter attire is stored away, I realize that an entire new season is upon me. Slowly my mind starts to remember that warmer weather brings a whole new element of shredding. Instead of powder day, it's a empty lake day... Instead of beers in the lodge, it's beers on the dock... Instead of ski or ride, it's wakeboard or surf... WOW! I just had an apostrophe (I mean an epiphany), summer time is here!
