Summer X Games 2012 kicks off this week in Los Angeles, California. The entire production takes place in and around the Staples Center and Nokia Theatre. All of the venue's event courses look insane! The designers and builders of this years Summer X Games did an incredible job. The event will feature about nine different courses headlined by a monstrous big air jump, a school yard inspired Street Course, a Skate/BMX Park Course and Rally Car Course through the streets of downtown L.A.
You can catch live X Games coverage starting on Thursday, June 28 at 9:00 pm on ESPN2. If you don't have cable or aren't able to sit down in front of a TV, X Games will be streaming live on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app. You can also build your X Games stoke by downloading the Summer X Games iPhone App. The app allows you to follow all of the action from the convenience of your smart phone.
Summer X Games Big Air Jump
This years Big Air Jump features a wide take-off and a 55-foot gap. Once on the landing, the athletes will face-off with a quarter pipe that's 27 feet tall and 56 feet wide.
Summer X Games Skate and BMX Street Course
The 2012 street course was designed to look and feel like an actual school yard. The idea was to make the athletes and spectators feel like they were kids all over again. Almost everyone can relate to a time when they looked into their own school yard and day-dreamed about hitting hand rails, stairs or any other ridiculously fun feature.
Summer X Games Skate and BMX Park
The 2012 Park course features a tunnel jump, an 11-foot vert corner and 14-foot plexiglas wall ride.
