Brady already mentioned 5 great ski films you must see this fall for some incredible preseason ski stoke. (See Brady's post from Aug 18.) Well, there are at least two more movies I feel you should strongly consider checking out for some slightly different perspectives on skiing. Both of these films should be awesome...
Stept Productions - NETWORK
Stept Productions does a great job of showcasing just how BIG and badass urban skiing has gotten. The talent these guys possess is serious. Check out the length of the rail at the 01:20 mark. And that rail to mega-drop from Cam Riley near the end of the trailer...wow. Not to mention the consequences...full on commitment. These guys display a passion for skiing in such a unique way it must be appreciated, regardless of how far from a ski area they are and the little time they actually spend on snow.
You can also expect to see some sick, super-sized park features that will give these guys oodles of air time to get their steeze on while flipping and spinning themselves (and the viewers) silly. There is some snowboarding mixed in but it works quite well...at least it did in last years's film "How We Livin' " which was solid from start to finish. And there is a very good chance the soundtrack for this film will be off the hook, too. I can't wait to hear the music for "Network" because the soundtrack for "How We Livin' " is freakin' amazing and gets me so psyched every time I hear it.
Stept also features some killer East Coast skiers and there is a pretty good chance you may even see some shots from you favorite East Coast ski areas...and local cities. Outside of Meathead Films, Step Productions should be your next choice if you actually want to see some great footage east of the Mississippi River.
Observe.

Grete Eliassen's - SAY MY NAME
If you want too see a ski movie full of ALL GIRLS showing the guys who the boss is on the mountain, in the park, or on the streets, "Say My Name" will likely do all of those things and more as Grete and crew of incredible female skiers put most of us in our place. Girl Power at it's absolute coolest!
It's always great to see girls segments mixed in with mainly dude-dominated movies, but to have an entire film of ripping ski chicks?!?! That's hot. There really should be more female segments in ski movies. There are some but need to be more. They deserve it. Well, this movie should help pick up some of that slack.
Enjoy!!
