With the winter season upon us it’s always a good idea to update your compilation of favorite ski music for riding and driving, seeing as how traveling becomes such a large part of the ski and snowboard season, fresh tracks are a must.
Over the past few weeks a few of The Ski Monster’s favorite artists dropped some fresh material, not heavy wet fresh, I’m talking champagne fresh. Blower? Sure, why not? Either way it’s what your ears and shred sticks have been have been craving for the past six warm, dry months.
The Glitch Mob just released a brand new hour long mix called “More Voltage” which can be downloaded off Glitch Mob's website for free, don’t worry about giving your e-mail address out when they ask for it because they will only update you with more kick ass free music. “More Voltage” samples both new and old tracks with plenty of never before heard glitch sounds all mashed together for one hell of a good time. The “Warrior Concerto” drop around the 16:45 mark sneaks up on you like an October Noreaster.
Justice released their new album “Audio, Video, Disco,” which samples a rock-like feel as if the sounds were sampled from an AC/DC album followed by a sometimes surprisingly simple electro sound, but nonetheless epic start to finish. When an album’s first song is named “Horsepower” it has to be good. I recommend downloading the iTunes version for the purpose of gaining the seventeen minute track “Planisphere”.
The new film from Brainfarm, “The Art of Flight” features songs from the new M83 double album, which is similar to listening to Genesis on steroids. The first record contains some serious hits sure to get anyone amped for even the coldest of days on the hill. The second track, “Midnight City” will make you want to ride till midnight, maybe even all night. The whole compilation can be found on iTunes as well.
Enjoy.
