2024 Outerwear Sneak Peek

Posted January 27, 2023 @ 12:24pm | by Devon Scovill

It’s a buyer’s favorite time of year. Tis the season for previewing, testing and placing buys for 2024’s gear! Tate and I have flown to Denver to see Spyder’s new Freeride line and Lindsay Vonn’s signature collection with Head Sportswear. We have spent time at our regional trade shows in Worcester and Providence checking out all the new Outerwear, Accessories and upcoming trends (yellow is making a comeback) and I just crashed the tail end of our snowboard buyers trip to get some pow turns before hitting the Winter Sports Market (WSM) in Salt Lake City. Up next, we are off to NYC to see our favorite bougie lines. Until then, here is a sneak peak of what you can expect to see next season for Outerwear, Apparel, and Accessories.

We are definitely seeing some color trends going into the 2024 season. Pastels are here to stay and a new color trend - ranging from Pale to Vibrant - yellow is back on the scene. Showing up in FW, Orage, The North Face, PictureArcteryx and more.

Bold colors coming from the new FW men's collection and Norrona keeping things bright and loud.

Mint and Teal are also having a moment in mens and women’s sitting heavy in the Picture, Spyder, Mammut, Terracea and TNF.

Mint can be found throughout the mens and women's Spyder Freeride Collection

There's mint sneaking into accessories as well, seen here in Oakley's new Mod7 Integrated Helmet

Speaking of helmets, Giro is introducing a new helmet that will fill a gap in the market for those looking for a uber safe, low profile and clean helmet that still has some low venting to keep the airflow moving. Mitch from our sales team just had his first test day with the new helmet and his reaction is below:

Mitch is also kinda swaggy so this is high praise for Giro. They are continuing their collab with Fender Guitars for another season as well as parterning with Slush snowboard magazine. We can guess which models are going to sell out first...

Peep that zebra print!!! <3

Armada crushed it this past season and with their new updated Camo, we think we will be seeing a lot more of their understated style on hill.

One of the lines we (especially Tate) are the most excited about is the JCC artist series from Rossignol. While this has been a 21 year artist partnership for Rossignol Apparel, it will be the first time we get to feature it at The Ski Monster. There is nothing else like this line. We are in love. Cosmic Love.

We told you there would be alot of yellow!

That fanny pack tho...

Mammut has updated one of their key styles,  a complete redesign of the Haldigrat kit and it’s is *chef’s kiss* (more mint in womens!)

Here is Mitch getting after it on a test day in the new men's Haldigrat and new Giro Owen Helmet and Contour Goggles

We also had a chance to get Softgoods Sales Guy Donny out in some of next seasons Flylow. Not sure if I am ever going to get that kit back from him....

But let's not forget the real hard workers- our first layers. Smartwool and Mons Royale have put out some amazing colors and patterns for next season. Narrowing down the selection for Smartwool was one of the hardest meetings we have had so far.

Mons Royale 2024 samplesMons Royale always delievers with their "disruptive" patterns and colors. Particulaly stoked about next seasons line.

One of the more impressive presences at the WSM show was the Sidas/Therm-ic and Dissent booth. It's no secret we all swear by their heated product, but Dissent is an amazing non-heat alternative - letting compression do most of the warming work.

But for the heat lovers...this baby is in the works. Introducing the Therm-ic Heated Base Layer. (insert drool emoji)

Therm-ic heated baselayerThe battery is squeeze activated so you can access it through your jacket and actually shut it on and off without removing all your layers

Tate and I finish up our buying season in NYC checking out the luxury lines. Getting to purchase brands like Goldbergh, Bogner, Aztech in a city that is flooded with fashion is the perfect way to wrap up our season.

2024 Bogner Outerwear

The Bogner showroom always has a ton of energy. Multiple appointments happening at the same time, fit models showing off the new cuts and sillohettes and walls and walls of samples to look through.

2024 Bogner Sport Samples The Bogner SPORT collection is stunning as always.

Bogner Fit ModelGetting to see samples on an fit model is a rare luxury. It's a great way to see how a new style will fit without having to try on everything in the showroom.

As much as we are dying to show you the 2024 Godlbergh collection, we can't just yet. Stay tuned for updates over the spring.

We will be testing more gear from Smartwool, Flylow, FW, Strafe, TNF, Mammut and Jones over the next few weeks. Keep an eye out on our Instagram and TikTok for reviews and updates for the remainder of the season.
