Watching Ski Movies in August is my pre-season ritual and it gets me super stoked to go skiing. Every year I find myself looking up all the new films and re-watching old favorites. Words can't really describe how excited i get for dropping temperatures and the chance to arc out my first turns. If you're anything like me then there is nothing like discovering the new music in all my favorite movies each season. Creating playlists is a snap with one of my favorite winter time websites http://skimoviemusic.com These guys do all the work for you and organize the tracks by year, production company, and movie.
I have created a list of my top five MUST SEE films of the season, so keep an eye out for
Poor Boyz -Revolver
TGR -Light The Wick
Meathead Films -Work It Out
Level 1 -EyeTrip
Matchstick Productions -The Way I See It
Some of these guys are really pushing the game forward, 2010/11 will see the use of 3D and other cool stuff so check it out for yourself.
For those of you headed back to college in the next few weeks, remember to look for ski movie premiers throughout the fall semester. These events are usually free but if they aren't they usually don't cost much. They are a great way to meet new people and to win free gear. Who knows, you might be that kid who walks home with a free pair of skis.
