Lange makes nice boots, there is no denying that and for the last few years they've been making boots that fit really well -- unlike a lot of their boots in the 90's.  The RS 140 is Lange's flagship boot and it wears the traditional blue proudly.  For skiers that consider most consumer boots to be soft and have too mushy of a liner the RS 140 is for you. There is no ski available to you that is too stiff or has too much snap for the RS 140 it is a burly boot that is designed to transmit every bit of energy you give it to the edges of your skis.  The only 2 other boots that are comparable to this level of performance are the KR2 Pro ID and the HEAD Raptor 140.

Forward Flex / Boot Fit

Yea 140 is pretty stiff but when you're skiing aggressively and want to get every bit of awesomeness out of your 1000 dollar skis you need a boot like the RS 140 to make it happen.  At 97mm in a 26.5 the boot fits really well.  The reason Lange has been fitting so well is the amount of R&D they have been doing the last many years, measuring thousands of feet to get a great out of the box fit.  Now though the RS 140 fits well out of the box Lange still designed it for bootfitters to work on - grinding, strectching etc.. Honestly this is one of our favorite boots to work on -- if you're in Boston swing by and we'll fit ya.  

Liner

World Cup Fit - Whenever you see laces on a liner you know it means business and it's not in the business of warmth.  This is about performance, if you're looking for something warm the RS 140 really isn't it.  Not saying that the boot is cold but if it's really cold out you're feet are going to feel it.  

Buckles

4 Micro-Adjustable Buckles - All of the buckles on the RS 140 are micro adjustable so you can dial in the fit to your liking.  

Additional Awesomeness

Double Canting Adjustment - Improperly aligned canting can cause severe discomfort, and make it feel unnatural to run your skis flat. You don't have to tolerate that.

40 mm with Cam Lock - As opposed to a traditional velcro strap boots the cam-lock 40mm strap will allow you to get the upper cuff snugger.  Snugger fit at the top = better energy tramsmission to the skis.
