The Mach1 HV 120 shares the same shell design and technology as the HV 130, just with a slightly softer flex and a more comfort-oriented liner. Like the rest of the HV lineup, it did not receive the 2027 fit updates that the MV and LV models did, but it remains one of our favorite high-volume boots because the platform already works so well.
Built around a true 103 mm last, the Mach1 HV 120 is designed for skiers with wider feet, higher insteps, or anyone who simply prioritizes comfort. Compared to the MV, there's noticeably more room over the top of the foot and around the forefoot, while the inside of the ankle is a little more forgiving. Despite the extra volume, Tecnica has done an excellent job keeping the heel secure, giving the boot far more precision than most high-volume competitors.
Compared to the HV 130, the 120 uses a plusher, lower-density liner that improves step-in comfort and shortens break-in time. The length feels slightly long out of the box, but not enough to justify sizing down. Once the liner is heat molded and settles in, the fit lands exactly where we'd expect.
On snow, the 120 flex is supportive enough for strong advanced skiers while being noticeably easier to access than the 130. The updated T-Drive spine keeps power transfer smooth and efficient, giving the boot a responsive feel that's uncommon in the high-volume category.
Like every Mach1, the HV 120 is extremely easy to customize. Tecnica's CAS shell and liner make punches and fit adjustments straightforward, which is one of the reasons it's become one of our best-selling high-volume boots.
If you have a wider foot but still want a boot that feels connected, powerful, and easy to ski all day, the Mach1 HV 120 is one of the best options available. It strikes an outstanding balance between comfort and performance, making it a favorite among both intermediate and expert skiers.

Use the sizing chart below to get a general idea of your ski boot size, but keep in mind that personal shoe habits — like sizing up — can make charts misleading. Ski boots are sized in mondo point, which is simply the length of your foot in centimeters, and there’s no true half sizing — 26.0 and 26.5 are typically the same boot.
