Tecnica Cochise HV 120 Ski Boots 2025

The Tecnica Cochise HV 120 is an alpine touring boot for skiers with wider feet. It's generous fitting in all the right places to keep wider feet happy in a ski boot while being responsive and powerful enough to drive skis predictably. This is a tough boot to beat in the alpine touring category on all facets -- it skis well, tours well, and fits well.

A generous fit combined with a solid level of performance on the uphill and downhill.

THE HV BOOT WE'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR.

The Cochise 120 has been around for quite a while, however, it was only offered in a fit that made sense for average feet. This season, Tecnica granted skiers with wider feet their wish; a Cochise that fits wider feet. Generally speaking, high volume boots don't offer the same level of performance as a more narrow boot -- not with the Cochise 120. Stack this boot next to the regular Cochise 120 and you'll notice that they ski and walk nearly identically to one another, the Cochise HV is just more generous in fit. The 120 flex has enough responsiveness and power for more advanced skiers while also being forgiving enough for skiers who don't need or want to be in the stiffest boots out there. The Cochise HV 120 can drive nearly any recreational ski with ease and predictability. The Cochise is also alpine touring capable, so trips in the backcountry or side country are definitely an option. The walk mode is easy to use and allows for a natural stride up hill, we also think the walk mode is a great feature for skiers who wear their boots at aprés. This is one of the best boots for intermediate to advanced skiers with wider feet who want the option to go touring. It's a great boot on the downhill while being smooth and efficient on the way up.

Bootfitter's notes:

The Tecnica Cochise HV 120 offers a generous fit in all the right places for skiers with wider-than-average feet. Length is true to size, the instep is forgiving for those with larger ankles or high arches, and the liner and shell are heat moldable to accommodate different foot shapes. Compared to the mid-volume fit, the Cochise HV 120 is more forgiving just about everywhere. The heel and ankle area are firm but not as precise fitting as the Cochise 130. The cuff of the boot is also accommodating for skiers with larger calves. Most small pressure points will come out of the boot once it is molded to your feet and Tecnica boots, in general, are some of the easiest to modify if necessary.
