One of the most popular boots in the AT category. A powerful boot without an overbearing fit

COCHISE, PLEASE.

The Tecnica Cochise 130 has led the Alpine touring boot category for a while now, and for good reason; it's one of the best performers as far as downhill goes with enough range of motion and all the bell and whistles to get you up hill with efficiency. At a 130 flex, the Cochise is powerful enough to drive any ski out there with ease and the boot can definitely handle more aggressive skiing styles if you like to push it out on the hill. For skiers who are looking for the option to tour envery now and then the Cochise has pins in the toe that allow the boot to work with tech bindings like the Shift and it has smooth walk mode to make ascents a breeze or short boot packs less work. If you only plan on using this boot in the resort but still want a walk mode for cruising the aprés scene the Cochise is good for that as well. For a boot with a walk mode, the Cochise has solid rebound that won't take away from your ability to charge hard and steer skis with ease, power, and predictability. If you're a more advanced skier looking for a boot that can lap the resort without ever skipping a beat but want the option to get into some areas you can't access via chairlift, the Tecnica Cochise is one of the best in the category.

Bootfitter's notes:

For a high performance boot, with a stated 99mm last, the Cochise 130 has a relatively forgiving fit. For good skiers with avergage to slightly wider feet this could be a solid option. Length is true to size, toe box is more squared off which decreases pressure on the big toe and pinky toe, without being too spacious. Heel and achiles is firm but will break in to feel more supple after the molding process. Instep is on the more precise side for a mid volume boot but not overbearing. Cuff can accomdate larger calves as well if you've had issues there in the past. The Cochise is also one of the easiest boots to modify, as far as fit goes, making it a solid option for a wide range of foot shapes.
