The Stockli Montero AR is one of the best tools for skiing groomers. It's stable, powerful, and grippy AF. There aren't many skis that can keep up with the Montero on the frontside. Experts or aggressive skiers will love the confident and limitless feel the Montero offers on groomers. Considering how much power the new model offers, we were impressed with how intuitive the ski felt for less experienced or aggressive skiers.

The Montero AR is a beast on-piste. Icy conditions, fresh groomers, and perfect turns are the name of the game.
The new and improved Stockli Montero is still one of the best frontside carving skis ever to hit the hill. It's not much different from the predecessor which is a good thing. It's a bit more precise and powerful in a turn, has a touch more energy, while also being a hair easier in the turn initiation department. Easier turn initiation just widens the range of skiers who can ski the Montero effectively -- again, a good thing. The Stockli Montero AR combines incredible on-piste performance in a wider platform than some other skis in this category. These skis are the definition of turn em' and burn em', then turn em' again. At 84mm wide it handles chopped-up crud, or heavy wet snow well, but these skis are built to crush hard-pack and groomers. Compared to previous generations of this ski our testing team finds this one to be a bit more forgiving. A more forgiving ski can be pushed harder by aggressive skiers with less consequences while also allowing less experienced skiers to tap into the performance. It is a little easier to pivot this ski or release the tails than the slightly more narrow Montero AX, allowing it to feel slightly more accessible at lower speeds or in some softer snow, but don't let that fool you. The Montero AR is still a higher performing, hard-pack-focused, ripping time. It's powerful, it's confident, it never chatters and it chews up groomers and spits them out all season long. This is a true groomer-slaying machine. There aren't many skis out there that feel as limitless and smooth as the Montero AR.
Who is this ski for? Skiers who spend almost every ski day hunting for fresh corduroy. Skiers that want to carve perfect turns who need a stable and powerful platform.
Who isn't this ski for? Skiers who spend the majority of time off trail. Skiers who hate carving.
