The 2026 Salomon S/Pro Alpha W is all about fit. This is a snug 98 mm last, this boot is unapologetically performance-oriented in terms, but Salomon’s built in enough comforts to make sure it doesn’t feel punishing. The shell and buckle layout make sliding your foot in surprisingly easy for a low-volume boot, and once you’re buckled up, the heel hold is rock solid without crushing the instep. The 100 flex feels like the sweet spot for strong intermediates and advancing skiers who want stability and precision without locking themselves into an aggresive fit or stance. On snow, the Alpha is responsive, small inputs from skier to boot are instant, and the boot’s natural stance feels centered and balanced, whether you’re driving groomers or bouncing through variable snow. The liner does its job well, hugging the foot and opening up plenty of customization so you can really dial in the fit. The result is a narrow boot that feels powerful but approachable, a balance a lot of progressing and advanced skiers have been searching for.

Bootfitter's Notes

The Alpha 100 is a low volume fit that offers precsion without any aggressive fit aspects. It's firm in the heel but doesn't feel overbearing on the achilles. Instep fits like a low-volume boot but is plenty generous for larger insteps. Length is generous but not enough to warrant sizing down. The cuff is less accomodating than some other boots in this category which might make this boot less appealing to skiers with larger, or more developed calves.
