Salomon S/Lab Shift² 16 MN Alpine Touring Ski Bindings 2027

$799.95

The Armada Shift2 16 MN is the binding for skiers who refuse to compromise. It tours efficiently, skis like a true alpine binding, and now packs an even burlier construction with a DIN up to 16. If you spend as much time charging lines as you do earning them, this is one of the best hybrid bindings money can buy.

Charge harder. Tour farther.

The original Shift changed the game. Before it, you generally had to choose between a lightweight pin binding that climbed well but sacrificed downhill performance, or a heavy frame binding that skied well but felt like dragging anchors uphill. The Shift gave skiers a legitimate alpine binding on the way down and a true pin binding on the way up.

The new Shift2 16 MN doesn't reinvent that formula—it simply makes it stronger.

The biggest update is obvious: DIN now goes to 16 instead of 13. That's great news for bigger skiers, hard chargers, or anyone who regularly maxed out the previous version. More importantly, Atomic and Salomon paired that higher DIN with a new 3-Part Power Heel, borrowing technology from the Strive 16 and STH2 alpine bindings to deliver a more solid, confidence-inspiring feel.

Everything else remains refreshingly familiar.

Flip the toe into tour mode and the alpine toe transforms into a pin binding for efficient skinning. Switch it back to ski mode and it functions just like a traditional alpine binding. It's still one of the few bindings that genuinely excels at both jobs instead of being mediocre at each.

Compatibility remains excellent. The MN (Multi Norm) certification means it'll work with Alpine, GripWalk, and touring boot soles, provided your boots have tech inserts in the toe.

On snow? Honestly... that's the best part.

You don't think about it.

Once you're clicked into ski mode, it feels remarkably similar to a traditional alpine binding. Power transfer is excellent, retention is predictable, and there's none of the vague, disconnected feeling many lightweight touring bindings can have. If someone blindfolded you and clicked you into a Shift2 16, you'd be hard pressed to tell it apart from a dedicated alpine binding.

Yes the Armada Shift 16 is the same, just different logo.
