Rossignol Soul 92 Skis 2027
Over the last decade, ski companies have spent a lot of time convincing us that more metal, more weight, and more stiffness automatically make a better all-mountain ski.
The Rossignol Soul 92 goes in the opposite direction.
Instead of trying to overpower the mountain, it simply makes skiing easier.
And honestly? That's what most skiers actually want.
This isn't just a refreshed version of the old Soul 92. Rossignol completely redesigned it. The shape is new, the rocker profile is new, and perhaps most importantly, they borrowed much of what made the excellent Soul 102 such a hit.
The result is a ski that feels dramatically more planted than its predecessor while keeping the playful personality that made the original fun.
The biggest improvement is stability.
The previous Soul 92 had a tendency for the tips to flap around once speeds picked up. It wasn't dangerous, but it always reminded you that you were on a lighter ski.
That's largely gone.
The stronger tip profile and updated construction create a much more confidence-inspiring platform without making the ski feel demanding.
That's a difficult balance to pull off.
On snow, the Soul 92 immediately feels intuitive. Turn initiation is smooth thanks to the generous rocker profile, and once you're standing over the metal underfoot, the ski grips far better than you'd expect from something this playful.
It loves making shorter, energetic turns. With roughly a 16-meter turn radius, it naturally wants to come across the hill, but it never feels locked into one shape. You can carve clean arcs, feather the tails, smear turns through bumps, or pivot through tight trees without fighting the ski.
That's really the Soul 92's biggest strength.
You feel like you're driving the ski instead of the ski driving you.
Need to break out of a carve and dump speed?
Easy.
Want to slash through soft snow on the side of the trail?
Go for it.
Need to make quick adjustments in chopped-up afternoon conditions?
No problem.
That huge sweet spot is what makes this ski so approachable. Good skiers will appreciate how easy it is to manipulate, while intermediates will find themselves skiing terrain that would've felt intimidating on a more demanding ski.
No, it doesn't have the bulldozer feel of skis with two full sheets of metal. If your favorite activity is nuking on frozen groomers at 50 mph, there are better options.
But that's missing the point.
The Soul 92 is designed for people who actually ski the whole mountain.
It carves well enough to keep you smiling on morning corduroy, floats surprisingly well for a 92 mm ski, and has the maneuverability to encourage you to duck into trees, bumps, and mixed snow without hesitation.
For a lot of skiers, that's exactly what an all-mountain ski should be.
