Ride Current Snowboard 2027

The Ride Current is one of the more interesting all-mountain snowboards we've ridden in a long time.

On paper, it shouldn't make as much sense as it does.

Directional shape. Medium-stiff flex. Carbon. Blake Paul's pro model. Then right in the middle of all that, Ride inserts a small rocker section between your feet instead of traditional camber.

Normally, that's where we'd start asking questions. Typically the best all-mountain/freeride boards designed to pack some punch do so with the help of traditional camber.

Instead, we walked away impressed.

Ride spent years developing the Current alongside Blake Paul, experimenting with dozens of prototypes and camber profiles before settling on this new Multi Camber design. The goal wasn't to just be different or appeal to a different demo. It was to create a snowboard that still rides with authority but feels noticeably easier to maneuver in technical terrain, tighter trees, and variable snow.

That's exactly how it rides.

The Current still wants to carve hard and carry speed. Watch Blake ride and you'll immediately see this isn't a mellow cruiser. The board rewards strong technique, commits confidently to big turns, and stays composed when the terrain gets rough.

The difference is how naturally it moves between those moments.

That subtle rocker section allows the board to roll from edge to edge with less effort than many traditional directional camber boards. Tight trees become easier to navigate, quick adjustments feel more intuitive, and the board never develops that "locked onto rails" sensation that some powerful freeride boards can have.

The tradeoff is exactly what you'd expect.

Compared to something like a Burton Hometown Hero or Capita Aeronaut, the Current gives up a little bite on truly icy mornings. If your season consists entirely of frozen corduroy and refrozen hardpack, a full camber board will still have the advantage.

Fortunately, that's only part of the story.

We rode the Current during a firm New England test day expecting to find its limits, and instead found ourselves enjoying it far more than anticipated. Edge hold remained impressively strong, turn initiation was effortless, and the board never felt vague or disconnected the way many hybrid profiles can. For someone who typically reaches for traditional camber, that was probably the biggest surprise of all.

If you've always liked the idea of a directional all-mountain charger but wished it felt just a little more forgiving when the terrain got technical, the Ride Current deserves your attention. It delivers the confidence experienced riders are looking for while adding a level of maneuverability that's genuinely noticeable once you leave the groomers.
