Nordica Unleashed 106 Skis 2027

The Unleashed 106 is exactly what we hoped Nordica would build.

The outgoing Unleashed 108 was one of the best carving freeride skis on the market, but it always leaned a little more directional than playful. The new 106 shifts that balance. It still has the horsepower Nordica is known for, but now it feels looser, surfier, and much more willing to break free when you want it to.

The biggest change is the new construction. Nordica introduces Drift Lock Technology, combining a lightweight poplar core, a full-length carbon strip, and a partial sheet of metal underfoot. Instead of running metal edge-to-edge through the entire ski, it concentrates the power where you need it most while allowing the tips and tails to stay more energetic and easier to release.

You can feel it immediately.

The ski pivots easier in trees, smears through soft snow with less effort, and has a much more playful personality than the old 108. At the same time, tip it over on edge and it still lays down beautiful carved turns that most skis this wide simply can't match.

That's been Nordica's secret for years.

They somehow make wide skis that actually enjoy carving.

The updated shape deserves just as much credit. More rocker and more tail taper give the ski a noticeably drifter, surfier feel without becoming vague or unpredictable. It encourages creativity instead of simply asking you to point it downhill.
