A 120 flex boot with a mid-volume fit that works for a lot of foot shapes and skier types.

BUILT FOR SPEED.

We're stoked to see one of our long-running favorites get the BOA treatment for the upcoming season. It's an awesome upgrade to one of the most consistently fitting mid-volume boots. The BOA system offers a more generous fit in the instep and more control over the fit in that area. It's an improvement because traditionally the Speedmachine 120 has fit tight in that area compared to other 100mm lasted boots. Aside from the new closure system, the Speedmachine 120 doesn't change a ton. It's still the mid-volume boot that offers high performance without being "too much boot" and works for a bunch of different foot shapes. It has a precise fit compared to other mid-volume boots, has a strong heel pocket, and offers great response laterally. While the SpeedMachine 120 is pretty substantial side to side (laterally) it doesn't feel overwhelming when you're flexing forward, making it an awesome option for progressing skiers who haven't perfected their form. The SpeedMachine 120 is forgiving enough in flex to allow for imperfect skiing form. At room temp, they feel quite soft, but when you get out there they'll feel like a 120. The SpeedMachine 120 drives most skis with ease and it works for a huge range of skier types. The SpeedMachine 120 is a boot that's ready to go wherever you are.

Bootfitter's notes:

The Nordica SpeedMachine 3 120 is a snug 100mm last with a slightly longer toe box. The fit is precise throughout the foot, but the addition of a BOA system to replace buckles will make it feel slightly more generous in that area. The liner is less agressive feeling than the SpeedMachine 130 and is more pronounced/firm than the SpeedMachine 110 mostly around the heel. The achilles and ankle area can be a little snug for some people, but this will bake out with heat molding, time on snow, or minimal liner work if needed. The SpeedMachine 120 is also one of the easiest boots to modify if necessary and for a 120 flex boot, it's easy to put on and take off.
