The Nordica Speedmachine 105 has been one of the most popular ski boots on the market for a while now. Nordica has a great recipe here for a great ski boot; snug mid-volume boot, a flex pattern that works for a huge range of skiers, a boot that's easy to put on, and enough performance to drive skis easily. The Speedmachine is stiff laterally, allowing skis to be rolled from edge to edge quickly and predictably while the forward flex is more supple to allow for imperfect skiers to improve. The addition of the BOA closure and some small improvements to fit keep the Speedmachine close to the front of the pack in a competitive ski boot market. The Nordica Speedmachine 105 is a near-perfect blend of comfort and performance that most recreational skiers are looking for in a boot that can take them from bell to bell. The three-digit flex number of the Speedmachine 105 shouldn't scare off less experienced skiers -- it's forgiving. More aggressive skiers who don't need the stiffest boots or want a touch more comfort than higher flex boots might have to offer should also feel confident in the performance the Speedmachine 105 has.

The Speedmachine BOA 105 is a mid-volume boot with some fit characteristics you'd generally only find in lower volume boots without feeling aggressive. It is precise in the heel and some achilles pressure might be noticeable out of the box but this will feel more appropriate once the liner is molded and broken in. Length is generous and the toe box allows for some freedom but not enough to warrant sizing down. Compared to previous versions of the Speedmachine, the newest version is most improved on top of the foot and across the instep -- it's more forgiving and in turn more comfortable.

The Speedmachine BOA 105 has a solid fit for average feet and a surprising amount of performance. It isn't the stiffest boot out there but that's why it works for so many skiers. Experts will appreciate it and progressing skiers will benefit from the forgiving feel.
