Lange Shadow 130 MV Ski Boots 2026

$849.95

The Shadow 130 MV provides low-volume performance in a fit that is generous enough for good skiers with average feet who don't want to be crammed into a narrow boot. It has a responsive feel, sends power to skis efficiently, and will allow you to get the most out of your gear. This has become one of our top-tested boots over the past few seasons. A small update to the liner this season brings the Shadow to another level, making the boot feel a bit more solid around the foot but not overbearing. If you’re a good skier with an average foot shape and want a solid performance level, this is your boot.

LEAGUE OF SHADOWS.

Since the launch of the Lange Shadow a few seasons ago, it has steadily grown in popularity for all the right reasons. It skis well, looks great, and most importantly, it fits incredibly. The Lange Shadow 130 MV is a mid-volume fit for harder-charging skiers who don't want to cram into a low-volume boot. One of the best things about this mid-volume boot is its performance level, which you would usually only find in narrower boots. For the 25/26 season, Lange made some minor updates to the liner that make the boot feel a bit more solid around the foot. Having tested this boot on both coasts, over various conditions, and on a range of skis, we can confidently tell you there isn't a ski out there that will cause the Shadow 130 to stutter. This is a great option for more advanced or aggressive skiers with average feet, looking to get the most out of their skis. The Shadow series is different from just about every other boot on the market in the way the upper cuff is attached to the lower shell, and you'll notice it doesn't have the traditional flex adjustment pins on the spine of the boot. The Shadow uses a "Suspension Blade." Essentially, this makes the top of the boot easier to flex into and allows for a forgiving feel in the top end of the flex pattern while also maintaining solid rebound and responsiveness. The goal of constructing a ski boot in this manner is to make the skier’s day on the hill as effortless as possible and to up the performance level. Lange nailed it, the Shadow is responsive, powerful, and can steer any ski with ease. In a world filled with a ton of BOA options for ski boot closure systems, having a solid 4-buckle option on the market is a nice plus (for some).

Bootfitter's Notes

The Shadow 130 is a true mid-volume fit that is generous in areas where most recreational skiers want a little breathing room. Compared to the first iteration of the Shadow 130 MV, the newest version is a touch more precise and firm (in a good way). The liner in the heel and Achilles is firm and allows for awesome hold in this area. The area on top of the foot and across the instep is more generous than some other mid-volume boots (Nordica Speedmachine, for example). Length will feel short out of the box, but that is just the new liner. The length will feel much more appropriate once the Shadow 130 is molded to your feet and broken in a bit. Width is precise in the mid-foot but more generous in the forefoot area to keep your toes happy. The cuff is also generous enough to accommodate larger, more athletic calves if needed.

Size Chart

Use the sizing chart below to get a general idea of your ski boot size, but keep in mind that personal shoe habits — like sizing up — can make charts misleading. Ski boots are sized in mondo point, which is simply the length of your foot in centimeters, and there’s no true half sizing — 26.0 and 26.5 are typically the same boot.
