The Shadow 120 is a mid-volume fit that offers good performance for a range of skier types. It's easy to put on, isn't suffocating on your feet, and drives most skis easily. The Shadow 120 has good responsiveness while also being forgiving enough for skiers who aren't perfect or don't want a really stiff flexing boot. Way to go Lange.

A 120 flex boot that is designed for average feet and making your ski day less taxing.
The Lange Shadow 120 replaces the Lange RX 120 this season. It skis better than the RX, fits better than the RX, and not that it really matters -- but it looks better too. The Shadow 120 MV is a mid-volume boot for average skiers with average feet. This is for skiers who want a boot that can drive most skis effortlessly but they don't need to be in the stiffest boots out there. The 120 flex is forgiving enough for skiers who aren't perfect out on the slopes or skiers who like a more forgiving flex pattern. Bending into the boot you'll quickly notice that the Shadow isn't built like a traditional alpine ski boot. The "Suspension Blade" on the spine of the boot allows the boot to be flexed into easily while also providing great rebound. These characteristics combined help to make your ski day as efficient as possible and a more supple feel over less-than-desirable terrain. Less work on your legs means more time out on the hill. If you're a progressing skier or more easy-going advanced skier the Shadow 120 MV is a solid option. It fits a variety of foot shapes and ability levels.
The Shadow 120 is a mid-volume fit that is generous areas where most recreational skiers want breathing room. The liner in the heel and Achilles are precise but not as firm as the Shadow 130. The area on top of the foot and across the instep is more generous than some other mid-volume boots (Nordica SpeedMachine for example). Length will feel short out of the box, but that is just the new liner. The length will feel much more appropriate once the Shadow 120 is molded to your feet and broken in a bit. Width is precise in the mid-foot but more generous in the forefoot area to keep your toes happy. The cuff is also generous enough to accommodate larger, more athletic calves if needed. If you're looking for a more powerful boot or more precise fit, check out the Lange Shadow 130.

If you have average feet, are an average skier and like the idea of keeping things easy on your legs, this is your boot. It can bend most skis easily but isn't an uncomfortable boot to be in all day. The Lange RX the Shadow replaced won't be missed.
