The Shadow 110 replaced the Lange RX 110 and is better on all facets of fit and performance. It is snug where a less experienced skier needs it to be but never overbearing. The performance the Shadow offers is perfect for less experienced or less aggressive skiers, allows for control over skis, and makes their day effortless.

A supple mid-volume fit and a forgiving 110 flex combined to give you one of our favorite boots for progressing skiers.
The Lange Shadow 110 is a mid-volume boot built for beginner-intermediate skiers who are progressing out of rentals or away from entry-level retail boots, but it also works for more experienced skiers who don't need or want to be in a stiffer flexing ski boot. The Shadow 110 can drive most recreational skis with ease, however, it may stutter a bit if you pair it with an immensely powerful ski; but that's not what the boot was designed to drive. The Shadow 110 has a forgiving flex pattern that allows less experienced to continue to progress without the boot reacting negatively to imperfect skier input. The new "Suspension Blade" on the spine of the Shadow 110 is a new way of connecting the upper cuff to the lower shell. Without getting into technical jargon, this "Blade" on the back of the boot provides a responsive feel while also making the top portion of the flex pattern forgiving, helping with rebound, and helping to transmit power to the ski. All this means is the boot is helping you to feel like a stronger skier and it helping to make your ski day a little less work... we're here for it. This departure from traditional boot design is a step in the right direction for normal skiers, like us, who are just out there to have a good time.
The Shadow 110 is a mid-volume fit that is generous areas where most intermediate recreational skiers want breathing room (toes, top of the foot.) The liner in the heel and Achilles is more supple than the stiffer Shadow 120 or 130 but it still provides good heel hold. The area on top of the foot and across the instep is more generous than some other mid-volume boots (Nordica SpeedMachine for example). Length will feel short out of the box, but that is just the new liner. The length will feel much more appropriate once the Shadow 110 is molded to your feet and broken in a bit. Width is precise in the mid-foot but more generous in the forefoot area to keep your toes happy. The cuff is also generous enough to accommodate larger, more athletic calves if needed. If you're looking for a more powerful boot or more precise fit, check out the Lange Shadow 120 or 130.

The Shadow 110 has more than enough performance for beginner-intermediate skiers while also providing a fit that won't feel like your feet are crammed into a plastic vice. It's warm, easy to put on, easy to take off, and will make you feel like a stronger skier. Lange knows boots.
