You're not buying this ski for versatility, so I'll skip that whole spiel, the reason you buy these things are for the days where it's dumping snow, the conditions are epic, and you need the skis that are going to take the day from great to all-time. Kastle took the metal out of the FX skis, which makes sense overall, but the difference is especially felt in the 116, you don't need two sheets of metal in a 116mm ski. Instead you get carbon which makes the ski more poppy, lighter, and more nimble. Obviously the ski will still rip when you want it to -- it says Kastle on it these guys know how to build skis that arc turns -- but now they've turned their attention to skis for epic snow days and built the ski that will put all other powder skis on the sale rack.

TLDR: It's built to shred pow at whatever speed you're comfortable with.
Recommended Binding: The Kastle FX 116 HP's do NOT include a binding -- the best skis come flat.
