For being a ski that was built for soft snow, the 116 Mindbenders did pretty effing well holding their own on some hardpack. They rolled up on edge arced a mean turn where the snow was slightly softer, but got a little nervous on the boiler plate -- to be expected. The Mindbender 116's were in their element back on other side of the contenient Heli skiing in Whistler BC back in '19. Snow wasn't blower, but it was 1.5 ft deep a.k.a 45 centis. Like the rest of the Mindbender collection the Mindbender 116 isn't afraid of speed, it's at home and confident pointing it down a steep face and opening it up, it does so without feeling dead, it's great blend of being damp but still having life. The liveliness comes in handy when you need to pop in and out of turns especially in the trees or heavier/wetter snow. Even as we descended to lower elevation in the afternoon, the skis didn't mind. Going through multiple eco-systems wasn't a problem. The Mindbender 116 is still a favorite among everyone here at The Ski Monster, again one of the best powder skis for 2021.

TLDR: One of the most solid feeling pow skis underfoot we've ever skied.
Recommended Binding: The K2 Mindbender 116 C's do NOT include a binding, awesome skis never do we recommend the Marker Griffon with 120 mm brake.
