This pant is especially important if you have a shell snow pant or bib. Many days of the year you are fine with a merino or synthetic moisture-wicking base layer.... but some days you really need to pack that extra punch to keep the cold away. Insulated leggings are the answer. Helly Hansen's Lifaloft Full-Zip Pant are an easy add on for a cold day. Wear it alone as your base layer bottom or zip them right over your thinner base bottoms on a day with variable conditions. Either way, your are not going to be calling it quits early because of a cold bum when you have these puffy pants on.
