The Head Raptor 140 is one of the most powerful and precise boots that we carry. It's precise in all the right places and there aren't many boots on the market that can offer this much performance. Full disclosure this is a boot for skiers that really only care about performance; while it's not overly uncomfortable, it's certainly not a boot that a skier that just cruises around might want. This is for harder charging experts that want a top of the line boot that will allow them to get every last ounce of performance out of a pair of skis. The 140 flex number is near the top of the flex range again emphasizing that this boot is built for expert skiers. If you come from a race background or want a recreational boot that skis like a race boot but has some of the creature comforts and aspects of fit that you'd find in lower flexing boots, give this a go. It's awesome.
Bootfitter's notes:
This is a fit for skiers that prefer a performance oriented feel. It's firm in the heel and achilles, snug across the instep and more narrow in the mid foot to keep your feet as locked in as possible while you turn em and burn em. If you're looking for a comfort oriented fit, you're on the wrong page. The liner and shell are able to be manipulated to address small pressure points you may feel. Length is true to size but if you're really going after a performance fit it might be worth discussing the pros and cons of sizing down. This is a tough boot to beat, performance wise, unless you want a professionally fit race boot. Ex-racers will love it, aggressive skiers will have a tough time finding a more powerful boot. Sick.
