Giro Axis Goggles
The Giro Axis Goggles make a strong case for choosing a cylindrical lens over the larger, more rounded designs that dominate the premium goggle market. The flatter lens shape gives the Axis a clean, modern look, while Giro's Expansion View Technology keeps the frame from getting in the way of your peripheral vision.
More importantly, the optics are excellent. Giro's VIVID technology, developed with ZEISS, improves contrast and definition to make changes in snow texture easier to recognize. The injection-molded lens construction also helps minimize optical distortion, and EVAK ventilation works to keep moisture moving out of the goggle rather than fogging up your view.
The magnetic-assisted lens system is particularly useful when conditions change. Four magnets guide the lens into place, while four locking pins hold it securely. You also get a second VIVID lens specifically for low-light conditions.
We like the Axis for riders who want the optical performance and convenience of a high-end goggle but prefer a more understated shape and medium-sized fit.
