Want a ski that rip better than most on the wall, but like the idea of being able to throw a touring binding on a ski too for some backcountry capability? The Fischer MyRanger 89 is the answer, with more than enough construction in the ski to rip up the resort, but lighter than most to make touring an option. Maybe you’re not even considering any backcountry adventures, you just want a lighter ski for carrying to and from the lodge. Nothing wrong with that, as I said before, the Ranger 89 is more than enough ski to handle frontside days just about anywhere. Flat tail make climbing skins super easy to clip on as well; if you’re into that sort of thing.
How does the Fischer My Ranger 89 compare to the Blizzard Black Pearl 88?
Similar skis, but the Ranger will have more float between the two, and will handle soft or uneven snow better because it’s got more rocker. Basically if you like trees, bumps, or hiking to get to fresh tracks go with the Ranger.

TLDR: You want a ski that can rip everywhere but really love getting off-trail or the occasional hike.
