The Ripstick series is extremely fun on the frontside and groomers, but now there is a more frontside friendly waist width at 86 mm.  Previous to 2018 there was a junior model of the Ripstick 86, it’s not the same thing – this is a beefed up construction as you could imagine.  The skis initiate a turn effortlessly and hold an edge like a ski that would require a lot of work to get to come around – a pretty sweet combo.  If a light weight ski is important to you and being in the mid 80’s for waist width is crucial, you’ve found your ski-soul mate in the Ripstick 86.  While it’s a more groomer friendly carver as far as dimensions goes – it can still hang if you dip into some glades or stumble across some fresh pow!  Awesome all-mountain ski.
