It’s 2020, and we’re here to dispel any hesitation you still have about skiing something over 100mm in the waist. The Ripstick series have always ripped hardpack way better than the weight and dimensions would suggest, and these 102s are no exception. Now where these are going to be at their best is off-trail and in ungroomed snow, but if you’re worried about them not being able to perform on the occasional groomer, don’t be. Skiing these in moguls and in tight trees, they turn on an absolute dime; seriously one of the most nimble skis you can find. If you’ve never skied on an asymmetrical ski before (A pair of skis with a designated right and left ski) you’ll notice immediately how the two different profiles of the ski allow for super smooth turn initiation and just overall maneuverability in tight spots. If you’re seriously only skiing groomers you’ll think it’s a little too chattery, but if you’re spending some time off-trail and appreciate a ski that’s quick and nimble you’ll love it. Or, you already have a narrower ski and you want something wider for deeper days…you’ll probably end up skiing it more than you think.

TLDR: The most nimble ski over 100mm around.
