Bridging the gap between uphill capability and downhill performance.
The foundation for the Burton Hitchhiker Splitboard Binding was brought over from Spark R&D. Spark has a ton of experience with splitboard bindings, while Burton has unreal binding tech. It only makes sense for this collab to go down in order to bring the best of two worlds together. The Spark R&D Tesla T1 system is the proven binding system that allows easy crossover from hiking to riding. This is important when you're at elevation or experiencing less-than-ideal conditions, fewer parts to mess with make for a quick turnaround. All that uphill tech combined with Burton's straps, buckles, and highback sets you up with a supreme operation. Supergrip Capstrap, Hammockstrap, and a negative forward lean highback are a few features to highlight. Responsive, comfortable, and efficient is the result of two industry leaders working together.
How does it ride? It exceeds expectations for downhill performance. One of the most important things is the Burton Hitchhiker actually feels close to a legit resort binding when descending. The board interlocks firmly together with minimal flex on the seam. Low quality splitboard bindings are often sloppy and simply suck for the downhill. That Tesla T1 system locks you down with confidence. It's lightweight, great for the up, awesome for the down, and most importantly can be trusted. The Burton Hitchhiker is ready for the ride as long as you're willing to tag along.
*Spark R&D Pucks NOT included.
A solid option for anyone looking to dial in their backcountry setup. A lightweight, easy to use, streamlined system that's smooth, confident, and capable on the way down.
