Burton's making killer shells at every price point, from the crazy techy backcountry shells to the Frostner, a really awesome jacket for a price where you typically only see insulated jackets. By  skipping the insulation, you get something that's a lot more breathable, and allows to layer more or less underneath based on the conditions. That, combined with Burton's Living Lining, which accelerates how the jacket wicks away moisture when you start to overheat, gives you a pretty amazing jacket in terms of breathability. Just pair this thing with an insulated mid-layer in the winter, and then a lighter, thinner one for spring skiing and you've got yourself a winning combination.
