Burton Custom Flying V Snowboard 2020

THE BENJAMIN BUTTON OF BOARDS...GETS BETTER WITH AGE

Flex: Mid-Flex // Shape: Directional // Profile: Flying V

These days, every single snowboard is marketed as the “do-it-all board.” And while it’s true that most snowboards are increasingly becoming capable of hitting everything on the mountain, almost every board specializes in one specific thing, or is best suited for one terrain. But marketing aside, if there was one board that truly was the one snowboard to do it all, it’s the Burton Custom Flying V. Burton’s Flying V rocker/camber allows for the ideal balance of nimble, floaty rocker with grippy and powerful camber. Intermediate riders will appreciate the bit of flex and won’t feel overwhelmed, while advanced riders know from years of experience that the Custom can get into (and out of) everything.  A legendary board that somehow continues to innovate and improve year in and out still blows our minds. It might not be the best snowboard at any one specific thing on the mountain, but it does every single thing really really well, and we’ve yet to see any rider who wouldn’t be able to take this thing out and have an absolute blast. It’s a classic for a reason, so check out the Burton Custom Flying V and turn the mountain into your personal playground.

FAQ

What’s the deal with the Flying V shape?

An absolute staple of the snowboard industry for years, Burton’s Flying V shape is their perfect all-mountain balance of rip and float. Rocker in the tip and tail, as well as directly in the center of the board provides a stable ride that feels awesome and will slash off trail, while camber zones directly underfoot provide the power and sharpness directly under your boots, where the power is generated. Rocker/Camber is all the rage these days because of its ability to shred everything, and the Flying V remains the ultimate construction in snowboard shapes for riders looking to hit it all.

Does the Flying V shape still feel stable enough at high speeds?

Oh yeah. Even if you like to rip straight lines at top speed you’ll always feel super stable on the Custom. Obviously the rocker is great for floating in pow, but the camber zones have more than enough grip to keep you flying down groomers for a chatter-free ride at any speed.

TLDR: About as close as it gets to the elusive 50-50 deck; a board that truly crushes everything on the mountain - no gimmick necessary.
