Blizzard Anomaly 88 Skis 2027

$749.99

The Anomaly 88 keeps everything skiers loved about the Brahma 88—grip, stability, confidence—and adds something the old ski lacked: maneuverability. It's one of the best all-mountain skis for advanced skiers who want carving performance without feeling locked into one turn shape.

Brahma's Better Looking Son.

Replacing a ski like the Brahma 88 is a dangerous game.

The Brahma wasn't just a good ski—it was one of the defining all-mountain skis of the last decade. It built a loyal following because it was powerful, stable, and unbelievably trustworthy at speed. The downside? It could be a bit stubborn. Turn initiation wasn't always effortless and the ski generally preferred one style of skiing: aggressive.

When Blizzard told us they were replacing the Brahma and Bonafide families with the new Anomaly collection, we were cautiously optimistic.

Then we skied the prototypes.

The good news? Blizzard got it right.

The Anomaly 88 retains everything that made the Brahma great while fixing many of the things that limited its appeal. It still feels powerful. It still grips hard snow exceptionally well. It still encourages you to ski fast and confidently. But now it feels noticeably easier to maneuver, easier to initiate turns, and far more versatile across different terrain and turn shapes.

The biggest improvement is balance. The Anomaly 88 no longer feels like a ski that constantly wants to charge. Instead, it feels willing to ski however you want that day. It loves medium-radius turns, but it's equally happy stretching those turns out across a wide-open groomer or releasing the tails to navigate tighter terrain.

For a ski in this category, edge hold is outstanding. The Anomaly 88 is one of the more precise skis you'll find around the 90 mm waist width range. On firm snow it feels confident, planted, and incredibly secure underfoot. Yet compared to the Brahma, the increased rocker and updated shape make the ski easier to pivot and more accommodating when conditions aren't perfect.

That's what makes the Anomaly 88 such a strong all-mountain option. It carves remarkably well, but it isn't just a carving ski. It handles chopped-up snow, spring conditions, bumps, trees, and mixed terrain with far less effort than many similarly powerful skis.

Compared to frontside-focused skis, it asks for a little more speed and skier input to truly come alive. That's the tradeoff for gaining significantly more versatility away from perfect groomers. For advanced and expert skiers, it's a trade most will gladly make.

If you loved the Brahma 88, this is the natural evolution. If you never loved the Brahma because it felt too demanding, this might be the ski you've been waiting for.

Blizzard managed to make one of the most respected skis ever built better.

That's not easy.
