Atomic Maverick 96 CTI Skis 2026

$749.95

The new Atomic Maverick 96 CTI is a nice upgrade from the previous Maverick 95 Ti. The 2026 Maverick 96 offers more agility, better turn initiation, is more capable off-trail, and it's easier to balance on for less experienced skiers or skiers who don't like to push the envelope. While it's not quite as powerful or "glued" to the snow as the predecessor, it makes up for that with a more well-rounded feel. It still has more than enough top-end power to be skied hard, pipe turns, and impress experienced skiers. This is a winner and one of our top-tested skis for 25/26.

TAKE A RIDE INTO THE DANGER ZONE.

The Maverick 96CTI replaces the old Maverick 95Ti as the mid-90s option in the family, and Atomic did not disappoint with the revamp. We put the 96CTI through its paces, testing in conditions ranging from East Coast ice to fresh powder to spring slush, and our overall impression is that this is a more versatile ski than its predecessor. Atomic did a great job of making this ski more maneuverable and giving it a quicker feel without sacrificing its top-end performance and hard snow ability. The previous ski, the Maverick 95Ti, used two sheets of metal and no carbon, while the new Maverick 96CTI uses slightly less metal combined with carbon, along with a stronger, stiffer wood core. The more notable change comes from a new shape; more rocker in the tips and tails makes it easier to release the ski and pivot. The result is a ski that's slightly less damp and significantly more playful, agile, and comfortable across a broader range of conditions. Though less damp, the 96CTI remains stable and composed at speed; it just means the ski feels less planted and more eager to transition into the next turn. The improvements become noticeable when you get off-trail and into technical terrain. At lower speeds, it pivots quicker, making you feel like you're doing less work. The most impressive characteristic of the Maverick 96CTI is its power-to-weight ratio. Based on how light and nimble it is, you wouldn't expect the Maverick to feel confident at higher speeds, but it's not afraid of being pushed. Typically, skis that feel effortless and quick at low speeds can feel nervous and don't inspire much confidence when you step on the gas; the Maverick doesn't follow those rules.

Who is this for? Skiers who want a ski that can take on any conditions and is confident without being demanding.
Who is this not for? Skiers looking for a ski that's the best at any one thing.
