Atomic Hawx Ultra XTD 120 BOA Ski Boots 2025

A low-volume boot that's stiff enough for more aggressive skiing, but not the stiffest. The walk mode and tech toe make this a sweet choice for alpine touring while also being able to rip up the resort. We're stoked on this new addition.

One of the best hybrid boots ever made.

BOOTS ON THE GROUND.

New for this season, Atomic has added a 120 flex boot to their low-volume hybrid touring line, filling the gap between the 110 and the 130. This is for skiers looking for something stiff but not the stiffest. The 120 has the same awesome tech as the 130, it's just slightly more forgiving. The two boots share the same liner, which is a step up from the liner used in the XTD 110. What we love about the entire XTD line, specifically this new 120, is that these hybrid boots perform more like a traditional downhill boot than most other boots in the category. The XTD 120 provides enough power to drive the burliest skis on the market, while still providing the essential features of an alpine touring boot. On the way up, a tech toe and smooth range of motion make touring days a breeze. This is a boot that makes the most sense for skiers who spend the majority of their time crushing resort laps and take the occasional trip into the backcountry or side country. Call it a 70/30 boot, or 80/20. This is a more aggressive fitting boot that more advanced skiers, skiers with low-volume feet, or skiers who want an unrivaled lock will more than enjoy. If you want something more aggressive, the Ultra XTD 130 is as good as it gets. If you're looking for a more relaxed fit, check out the Hawx Prime XTD series.

Bootfitter's notes:

Precise in all the right places. Compared to the previous generations of XTDs the liner is more anatomical around the ankle bones and the heel hold is an improvement, it fits more like a regular downhill boot. Length feels true to size and is soft on the end of the toes thanks to a liner update. Heel and ankle will be firm and offer solid foot retention thanks to a dense foam in the liner. Instep is true to a low-volume fit but not intense. The ability to heat mold the shell and the liner during the fitting process makes this boot fit like a glove with minimal work. The Boa dial is easy to use and wraps the foot well without crushing the top of your foot. Cuff is forgiving enough to accommodate more athletic calves and for skiers with skinnier legs Atomic includes a volume reducer that can be added in if necessary.
