Atomic Hawx Prime XTD 120 BOA Ski Boots 2025

Downhill performance is great, uphill performance is fluid and efficient. Great for skiers who love the resort but need a boot for adventures outside the resort in the back or side country. Boots like this minimize the sacrifice on both ends of the spectrum. Built to go down and more than capable on the up.

Awesome downhill performance for a boot with a walk mode. One of the most popular boots in the category.

EASY UP EASY DOWN.

Usually, when you want a boot that is good for downhill skiing and getting you uphill you'll have to make sacrifices on the up or the down. With the Prime XTD series, you can do both without making a major sacrifice on either performance aspect. It skis nearly as well as a downhill boot and is almost as efficient as a true touring boot, it's just a little heavier. On the way down the XTD 120 has great responsiveness and predictability which is necessary to drive skis efficiently. On the way up you'll have a surprisingly fluid feel that is generally only found in more specialized touring boots. The Prime XTD 120 does lean more on the resort side of things due to the fact that it's a little bit heavier, so while this is classified as a 50/50 Alpine Touring boot, it's more of a 75/25 or 80/20 resort versus touring split. So if you're an intermediate to advanced skier that spends most of your time in the resort but want a boot that can handle some touring or laps out of bounds this is a really well rounded option.

Bootfitter's notes:

The Prime XTD 120 is true to size and width. Relative to other boots in this category, the toe box is more pointed so you may feel a bit more pressure on the inside of your big toe and outside of the pinky toe. Instep is generous for a 100mm lasted ski boot, especially with the addition of a BOA dial. Heel pocket is firm to help keep you locked in when you're pushing it. The ability to mold the shell and liner will help to get the fit dialed in quickly and get the boot to feel as appropriate as possible around your feet. Top of the foot, instep, and above the toes is more generous than some other boots in this category such as the Nordica Unlimited 120 or Tecnica Cochise 120. If you're looking for a stiffer, more responsive flex check out the Hawx Prime XTD 130.
