Atomic Hawx Magna XTD 120 Ski Boots 2025

The Atomic Hawx Magna XTD 120 is a hybrid touring boot built for a wider foot. The 120 flex rating is strong enough to drive even some burlier skis and a smooth walk function keeps touring days efficient. It's a high-volume fit that is roomy in the right places and grabs your foot where it matters. Also, it feels pretty darn close to a traditional boot on the way down.

The range of possibilities with this boot is even wider than the foot that fits in it.

HIKE & HUCK.

There's a new big dog in the world of hybrid resort/touring boots and it's the Magna XTD from Atomic. This addition gives skiers with a wider foot another awesome option to build their setup around. The XTD 120 is meant for those who aren't after the most aggressive option and would prefer to maintain a level of forgiveness from their boot. If all you do is charge hard, the Magna XTD 130 might be the way to go. The 120 is strong enough to drive any all-mountain ski with efficiency, it's just slightly less responsive than its stiffer counterpart. The introduction of a "walk-mode" to the Magna line was a long time coming. There weren't many great options that could tour efficiently and ski aggressively for skiers with wider feet or more comfort-oriented skiers. The walk function is intuitive and feels fluid on the way up. Even though this boot has touring capabilities it is built for the downhill side of things. A stable feel, solid power transfer, and a fit that is generous enough to keep you comfortable all day. We couldn't be more stoked to see another badass high-volume hybrid touring boot make its way onto the scene.

Bootfitter's notes:

The Atomic Hawx Magna XTD 120 is a true high-volume fit for skiers with wider feet or comfort-oriented skiers. It is generous in width and on top of the foot while being firm enough in the heel to keep you planted. Out of the box, toes may feel a bit crowded in length and vertically but this will open up very quickly and does not warrant sizing up. The shell on the Hawx Magna XTD is heat moldable along with the liner making the fitting process a breeze for customers and boot-fitters.

The Test Crew

We test products year round in order to curate the best gear for you.

A newcomer in the high-volume hybrid boot category, and immediately one of the best options. Reasons to get a walk-mode boot (even if you don't tour a ton): You have the option to tour and can get to otherwise inaccessible terrain, you don't sacrifice THAT much downhill performance, it's sick, there's no better feeling than getting to aprés and popping them thangs into walk mode, and also it's sick.
