Atomic Bent Decode Skis 2027

$699.95

The Bent Decode is Atomic's most park-focused ski, but don't mistake that for a one-dimensional ski. It delivers a rare combination of precision, forgiveness, and durability that makes it one of the most complete park skis available. If you spend most of your day in the park but still want a ski that can handle the rest of the mountain, the Decode deserves your attention.

Park Skiers Wanted.

The Atomic Bent Decode is one of the most interesting skis Atomic has released in years. While the Bent collection has always leaned toward playful all-mountain skiing with freestyle roots, the Decode is unapologetically park-focused. This ski was designed from the ground up for skiers who spend serious time on rails, jumps, and progression.

What immediately separates the Decode from many modern park skis is how precise it feels. That's not a word most people use when describing park skis, but it's exactly what stood out to us.

The Decode features more camber than many freestyle skis on the market today, creating a stronger connection to the snow and a more accurate feel underfoot. While many park skis prioritize looseness, butters, and a surfy personality, the Decode feels quick, responsive, and deliberate. It encourages good skiing without punishing mistakes.

The construction reflects that purpose-built approach. Atomic starts with a Poplar wood core and adds their new ABS CoreGuard layer beneath the core to improve impact resistance and durability underfoot. As anyone who's spent time skiing rails knows, that's where a lot of skis eventually fail. While nothing is truly indestructible, it's encouraging to see Atomic directly addressing one of the most common durability concerns park skiers face.

The added material does increase weight compared to the Bent 90, but not dramatically. At roughly 1850 grams in the 177 cm length, the Decode still falls comfortably into the lightweight category for a park ski. More importantly, the additional weight gives the ski a slightly more substantial feel without sacrificing maneuverability.

The flex pattern is another highlight. The Decode is actually softer than the Bent 90, featuring a smooth, round, consistent flex from tip to tail. It's easy to press, easy to butter, and forgiving when you get out of position, yet it still provides enough energy and support to feel lively on jumps and around the mountain.

Compared to something like the Armada ARV 94, the Decode feels more precise and more eager to engage a turn. The ARV has a looser, driftier personality and prefers to smear turns. The Decode feels more connected to the snow and rewards skiers who like to actively drive the ski.

While Atomic describes it as 75% Park and 25% All-Mountain, I'd argue it's even more park-focused than that. That's not a criticism. It's simply a ski that knows exactly what it wants to be. Fortunately, it's exceptionally good at it.

Who is this for? Dedicated park skiers who spend most of their day on jumps, rails, and freestyle features.
Who is this not for? Skiers looking for a true all-mountain ski first and a park ski second.
