Armada Stranger Skis 2024

The first thing you’ll notice about the Stranger is that it has an insane amount of pop. The second thing you’ll notice about the Stranger is that it’s weirdly good when you get it on edge and can make whatever turn shape you want. Usually carving ability is a sacrifice you make with skis in this category, but not this one.

A freestyle ski with a craving for carving. It's just Strange, in the best way possible.

LET'S GET WEIRD.

The Armada Stranger is a weird ski and I mean that in the best way possible. It's a playful and poppy all-mountain freestyle ski that checks all the boxes it should: It loves riding switch, catching air, and flexing into butters. It's great for the park, side hits, and going off-piste. With a nimble feel and 100mm of waist width, it's great for hunting soft snow and ripping through the trees. That's all standard stuff for a ski with this construction, but what's surprising about the Stranger is that on top of its freestyle abilities, it carves way better than it should. The Stranger can absolutely rail a carve unlike any other ski in this category. It's not a powerful ski, but medium to short-radius carves feel energetic, stable, and easy to shape. If you're just looking for a groomer slayer, look into other options, this is a freestyle ski that loves to carve. Its carving ability is what makes it stand out among the category. It's still gonna make the most sense for a playful style skier who likes to mess around and do tricks all over the mountain, dip into the trees, find natural features, and lap the park. It has a quick feel, a ton of pop/energy underfoot and it's not demanding at low speeds. It also just happens to carve like a beast.

Who's this ski for? Playful style skiers who love to carve. Skiers looking for a wider park or freestyle ski. Skiers who want a freestyle ski that isn't just another twin-tip park ski.

Who isn't this ski for? Skiers looking for JUST a carving ski are on the wrong page.
