A boot truly unlike any other in the ski world, the Apex ski boot system blends comfort and performance in a way never seen before. Traditional ski boot construction is thrown out the window here, and replaced with a two-part system that combines a comfortable inner walking boot with a removable open chassis. If the inner boot looks familiar to you, that’s because it’s just your standard double BOA snowboard boot. This way you’re getting all the comfort that regular snowboard boots offer for when you’re walking around après or hiking uphill, but then when you strap into your skis, you buckle the ski boot exoskeleton around your boot to be locked into your bindings. Comfort of a snowboard boot while still getting the performance of a ski boot. The XP model found here is going to feature a much stiffer flexing chassis system, so it’ll be better for advanced and expert level big mountain skiers.

Do these flex like traditional ski boots?

While they obviously don’t look much like traditional ski boots, the outer chassis will still flex in a way that you’re familiar with. The boot comes with an adjustable flex system so you can set the flex at 115, 125, or 135. 

Can I wear the inner boot as a snowboard boot on its own? 

Absolutely. If you’re someone who skis and snowboards, these boots are a match made in heaven for you because the inner boot can work as a regular snowboard boot. It will be on the stiffer spectrum of snowboard boots, however. 

Boot Fit /Forward Flex

The XP features an adjustable forward flex that can be set at 115, 125, or 135 using the Tunable A-Flex Suspension System. With regards to fit, the XP features a generous toe box that will give you plenty of space, and a locked-in secure fit in the heel when the outer shell is strapped on.

Apex’s Custom Fit Liner is 100% heat moldable, and features a little extra room in the toe box to give you some room for working uphill.
