Volkl M6 Mantra Skis 2024

A powerful, stable, and confident ski built for hard-charging. If you want performance this is it. The Mantra is built for hard-charging, railing turns, and powering through whatever is in front of you. A sturdy feel stays quiet and composed at any speed, and has no problem keeping you on rails if the snow is hard. It's definitely demanding at lower speeds but that's the trade-off for maximum power.

If it's performance you demand performance you will get.

YOU KNOW THE NAME.

The Volkl M6 Mantra is a versatile all-mountain ski that can rip and rail a turns on a groomer, while also being capable in and out of tighter terrain. There’s no debate that the M6 is the best iteration of the Mantra to date, it exudes power on the frontside and has the true "Volkl" feel (IYKYK). However, at 96mm underfoot and with a stiffer construction, it’s built for the hard-charging skier who likes to attack the mountain and doesn't mind a ski that needs to be pushed hard before it comes alive. The M6 is wide enough to blast through crud and can hang in softer snow, so it more than capable if you want to ski off-piste, but among the 90-100MM class, this is the by far the most demanding and it generally prefers to be on groomers making long arcing turns. It’s not going to be the most lively and energetic feeling ski, but its ability to stay locked in and hold on in turns at high speeds is what makes it stand out. It's a wider waisted all mountain ski that has a real knack for dominating groomers.

Who's this ski for? Skiers looking for an all-mountain ski who prioritize stability, confidence, and carving more than anything. You might like to mix up your terrain and venture off-trail or into some ungroomed stuff, but you don't mind a ski that's gonna take a little more work to get through that stuff.

Who isn't this ski for? Newcomers. Freeriders. Anybody who prioritizes a playful feel and maneuverability.

The Test Crew

We test products year round in order to curate the best gear for you.

The Mantra knows what it wants. It has a particular set of attributes that will make certain types of skiers very happy. It's aggressive, powerful, loves carving, loves speed, and can handle any terrain. It's a little more work in variable terrain or snowpack, but at 96MM, it's inherently versatile.
