We all know Merino Wool is quick drying, so is polyester. When you mix the two together you get a merino sport yarn that combines the fast dry power of both fabrics to make it a seriously quick drying base layer. This is a base top, not a ski shell so why does it need to dry so quick? When you start working up a sweat either on an ascent, carving turns, or just waiting for your buddies in the lodge, your skin gets wet. It's the job of the base layer to move that moisture away from your skin and keep you feeling dry so that your body temp stays regulated. Merino is very good at wicking away the moisture and now it will be even faster at drying so you never feel cold or wet. Smartwool's new Intraknit is a 3D yarn knitting allowing for cool patterns and mapped ventilated zones that are extra breathable where you need it most.
