The Shift is essentially two bindings in one. A tech binding for the uphill and a full DIN binding for the downhill. This is one of the most popular alpine touring bindings we carry. It's great at both aspects; up and downhill skiing. It can be skied in the resort while also being more than capable on touring days.

Maybe you haven't been able to get a Shift in the past because you weren't heavy enough, yes weight of the skier is a factor, that's why Salomon made the Shift 10. The Salomon Shift 10 is a great option for skiers under 140 pounds or less aggressive skiers in general. The performance of the binding is still there it just has a lower duty spring in the toe and heel. Having 'less' spring only affects DIN setting, power transmission is equal between Shift 10 and Shift 13. Took a couple years but it's here, Shift 10.
*Not compatible with boots that DO NOT have full toe and heel lugs: i.e Atomic Backlands, Arc'teryx Procline, Dynafit Hoji, Salomon X-Alp...are a few to name.

The Shift 10 is an alpine touring binding for lighter weight skiers who don't need a huge DIN range. It performs well in resort settings and feels almost the same as a downhill binding but it's light weight construction and smooth walk function take this binding to a new level.
