How stiff/flexible is the Malamute?

With a stiffness rating of 9.5 out of 10, this is one of the stiffest freeride snowboard boots there is. Even putting all of your weight on your toes like you were making a toe side turn, you won’t feel the boot flex forward at all. The minimal flex of the boot combined with a super secure inner shell and interior J-Bars make the fit of the Malamute the most locked in you can find. 

How will the Malamute compare to the Ride Insano Boot?

If you’re into super stiff boots, the Insano from Ride is the other boot worth looking at. Its flex rating is very comparable to the Malamute (9 vs. 9.5), and also feels great. The Insano will have a double BOA lace-up system, while Malamute uses a Powerlock lacing system. Both are really stiff, really high quality boots, however I slightly prefer the Malamute because of the way the liner really contours my foot better than any other boot; it seriously almost feels like you’re barefoot.
