The little brother to the Sender series, the new Rossignol Escapers are an awesome jumping-off point for intermediate skiers looking to start venturing off-piste and potentially into the backcountry. 94mm underfoot is still a really approachable waist width, especially for east coast skiers, but the (relatively) light weight and lack of metal in the ski means that it’s a ski that will feel more comfortable away from the trail or cruising on groomers than it will charging them. That being said, nothing about the ski held me back on trail, and was still very capable of arcing turns. Really, this is for the skier that wants a slightly more forgiving and playful ski that isn’t too demanding, can punch above its waist width in softer snow, and can even be used as an introductory east coast touring ski. Need a little more power, go Sender Ti

TLDR: Everything the Sky 7 was, this is the opposite.

Recommended Binding: The Escaper's  do NOT include a binding, the cool skis never do.
