WEARING DOWN IS FUN.

The Down Sweater for Women is one of the best pieces that Patagonia makes. The second that you slip this thing on you feel the high quality down start to do its job. Too many down jackets are filled with low quality feathers that weigh a lot compared to the amount of volume they take up. The Down Sweater uses 800-fill power traceable goose down that is never live plucked and never forced fed. This high quality down comes from the chest feathers of the goose and it has an excellent warmth to weight ratio. The fabric of this jacket is 100% recycled ripstop polyester to stand up to anything life can throw at it. The zippers are YKK Visalon zips that move up and down with almost no force. The outside has two hand warmer pockets that house the ends of the cinch-able hem. On the inside there is one zippered security pocket that doubles as a stuff sac. Once you zip this one up, you won’t take it off.

Fit

Regular Fit - The Down Sweater gives you enough space for a Capilene Layer or Regulator Fleece, but doesn’t wear ultra baggy.

100% Recycled Polyester RipStop Shell and Liner Fabric - This rugged 20x30 Denier waterproof outer shell is finished with a durable water repellent(DWR), and is touted for it’s exceptionally low overall weight and a high breathable factor.

22 Denier polyester lining is smooth next-to-skin.

Insulation

800 Fill Down is sourced from non-live-plucked, non-force-fed birds. The packability of down reigns supreme and it’s ability to insulate at extremely low weight is thus far unmatched by synthetic insulation. Fill Power refers to the capacity of the insulation to trap heat, and 800 Fill is darn near the very finest available.

100% Traceable Down - Patagonia sources only down fill that is third party verified as being never live-plucked or force-fed. In an effort to achieve total transparency within the handling process, every link of the supply chain is audited, from the farm, to the processor, to the wholesaler. Patagonia representatives are permitted to conduct one-on-one interviews with workers and make unannounced visits to the facilities, for the purpose maintaining the integrity of the Traceable Down Standard.
