The Nordica Unleashed came on the scene last season and we've all become more and more impressed with the performance as we've gotten to ski it more regularly. Nordica marketeted and built this ski as a more playful, freeride ski that is all mountain capable and they kinda nailed it. It does all of the things more playful skis are expected to do really well; it's poppy, energetic, forgiving, can be skied switch, aired out, and bomb a tree run. However, that's not why this Unleashed 98 made its way to a few of our testers top tested list. The Unleashed became a favorite for some of our skiers because it also maintains a really high level of performance on groomers, where you wouldn't expect it to shine. That's not to say this is a powerful carving ski, it's just an impressively good ski on hard pack and groomers for a ski that is so good at the playful aspect of skiing, (a lot of playful, maneuverable skis get nervous at high speeds and when the condtions are less than desireable). It can carve a mean turn, inspires confidence at high speeds, and that little bit of metal underfoot keeps the ski from ever feeling nervous or like it wants to give up on you. At 98mm underfoot this ski handles softer snow in the trees or fresh snow on groomers, but it's not so wide that it can't hang on a groomer. Turn initiation is easy and with a softer flex profile the Unleashed 98 is forgiving enough for less experienced skiers to tap into the performance easily.
Who is this ski for? More playful skiers who really spend the ski day all over the mountain. Jibs, side hits, tree runs, moguls and groomers.
Who isn't this ski for? Aggressive skiers looking for powerful carving skis or more limitless all mountain skis. The Unleashed isn't the most precise option out there and does have a speed limit compared to burlier more directional skis.

Nimble, energetic, playful and poppy. On a groomer the Unleashed is a blast to carve around on. Take it to the side of the trail or off trail and it comes to life. Quick edge to edge, easy to pivot and easy to balance on.
