The 120 flex is powerful and efficient but won't feel like "too much boot" for less experienced skiers. This is one of the boots we're excited about for this season.

The Lange Shadow 120 LV is a low-volume boot for intermediate to expert skiers looking for a precise fit and awesome performance. The Shadow series replaces the Lange RX series, all we need to say is we won't miss the RX; the Shadow is better on all fronts. The 120 flex Shadow is powerful and precise enough to drive skis without ever skipping a beat while being a little more forgiving and comfortable than the Shadow 130. The Shadow offers good rebound, responsiveness, and stiffness to send energy to your skis quickly and with very little work. The goal of a ski boot is to make your skiing as efficient as possible, the Shadow does exactly that. If you're a progressing intermediate looking to up your game on the slopes, the Shadow 120 LV is a perfect boot to do that. If you're an advanced skier but you don't need to be in the stiffest boots out there the Shadow 120 still offers a ton of top-end performance even for more aggressive skiers.
Bootfitter's notes:
The Shadow 120 LV is a low-volume boot, however, Lange hasn't thrown all of the comfort aspects to the wayside. The Shadow is snug in the heel and precise around the Achilles to keep you locked down but not as dense as the Shadow 130 LV. The sides of the feet are snug, most notably in the mid-foot area, but a tad generous for a 97mm last in the forefoot, so you're toes will be happy all day. You may feel some excess pressure on the end of your toes before the boot is molded to your feet; this will go away after the molding process. The instep and top of the foot are slightly generous for a low-volume foot which makes this a good option for skiers with a higher instep or higher arches.
