For the person who doesn't want to worry about bringing all the right layers for the conditions that day and what to wear in what order, the Catalyst makes your life easy. It fits comfortably and can be thrown on as is and you'll be good to go 99% of the time. For the times that it's brutally cold, the freeride fit of the jacket is plenty accommodating for a midlayer underneath. Overall a simplistic design that is ready to cover you in the worst weather, no extra frills to worry about here.
